Welcome to DIM-Fi ("we", "our", or "the App"). We are highly committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in how we handle data. This Privacy Policy explains how DIM-Fi accesses, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.

By using DIM-Fi, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Access and Process

a. Wi-Fi & Network Telemetry (Processed Locally On-Device) To provide you with network diagnostic tools, Wi-Fi channel inspection, and local topology discovery, the App accesses:

• Active Wi-Fi SSID, BSSID, signal strength (RSSI), channel frequency, and gateway IP.
• Local subnet IP addresses, hostnames, and open ports of devices connected to the same local network (via ARP/UPnP/mDNS).

Important: All network scanning, device discovery, and heatmap generation processes are executed 100% locally on your device. We do NOT transmit, store, or monitor your local network traffic, browsing history, or personal files on any external servers.

b. Location and Nearby Devices Permissions Disclosure Depending on your Android version, the operating system requires specific permissions to scan Wi-Fi networks:

• Android 11 and below: Google requires the Location Permission (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION or ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION) to scan and read Wi-Fi network names (SSID/BSSID) and signal frequencies.
• Android 12 and above: We use the NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES permission, which allows Wi-Fi scanning without requiring physical location access.

DIM-Fi does NOT track, record, or share your physical GPS location. The location permission (on older Android versions) is strictly utilized by the operating system's API to perform Wi-Fi radio frequency scans.

c. Local Storage & Heatmap Data Your speedtest Quality of Experience (QoE) history, custom floorplans, Wi-Fi signal heatmaps, and app settings are stored locally on your device's internal storage. You retain full control over this data.

2. Third-Party Services & Advertising

The free version of DIM-Fi uses third-party services to support the development and maintenance of the App:

• Google AdMob: We use AdMob to display banner, interstitial, and rewarded video ads. Google AdMob may collect and process device identifiers (such as the Google Advertising ID), IP addresses, and app interaction telemetry to serve relevant, non-personalized, or personalized ads based on your device settings.
• Google Play Services / Crash Analytics (if applicable): We may use basic diagnostic tools provided by Google to collect crash reports and app performance data. This data is anonymized and helps us fix bugs and improve the App.

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal data, network configurations, or scan results to any third party.
